I’ve been lax about updating my blog in general recently, and I realized I forgot to post something directly on here in response to the blatant police brutality highlighted by the murder of George Floyd in the city where I live. I’ve updated my welcome page.
Black Lives Matter, I’ve been listening and learning about how much more systemic oppression black people face then I realized, and I’m working on transitioning that knowledge into action. Just because it makes zero sense to me how others can perpetrate these heinous actions onto anyone, that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening or that I can ignore it and thereby enable it. Silence is violence and just trying to be personally “not racist” isn’t enough.
